Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and local storage to keep you logged in, save your preferences, and maintain your session (such as keeping track of your PC builds or forum activity). By using our website, you consent to the use of these strictly necessary cookies.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Retailers

Our website connects you with PC deals. Clicking on outbound links to retailers (such as Amazon, Newegg, or Best Buy) may result in those third-party sites placing their own cookies to track affiliate commissions. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, tracking, or content of these external sites.

Information displayed publicly

The following information may be displayed publicly:

  • Your account username (We strongly recommend you don't use your real name)
  • Any user-generated content (such as comments or posts) you set under the "Public" or "Link-only" privacy settings

Additional Privacy

When performing additional actions, such as linking your PCTechSniper account to your Discord account (may be supported in the future), we store additional information:

  • Discord user ID (used to link the account)

Data Deletion Requests

Users may request deletion of their account and all associated personal data by emailing [email protected] with the subject “Data Deletion Request.” We aim to respond within 5 business days.

Your Data Rights

In addition to deletion, you have the right to access a copy of your personal data, request corrections to inaccurate data, or export your saved PC builds and forum data. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at the email address provided above, or using tools provided to you on our website.

AI Models and Data Usage

We use local AI models for certain features of the website, including interactive assistance. Specifically, we use the following models served through Ollama and vLLM:

  • GPT-OSS:20B (Apache 2.0 license)
  • GPT-OSS:120B (Apache 2.0 license)

Our AI models run on local hardware and are not provided by third parties. No data is shared with third parties.

Conversations with these models may occasionally be logged for debugging or improvement purposes. No identifiable information is attached to these logs. As of 2026-08-18, we do not yet have a user-facing AI system.

Data Retention

We retain privately stored data from users when any of these conditions are true:

  • The data is critical to the security of the account, and without it the account is at risk of being compromised.
  • The user has asked us to store this data (example: by clicking a "Save" button), and has not requested deletion. Upon request to delete, we may retain certain types of data for up to 14 days for recovery purposes.
  • Unverified Accounts: If you create an account but do not verify your email address within the required timeframe, your account and all associated data (including saved PC builds) are automatically queued for deletion after 24 hours.

Information we store privately (such as your PC builds and part lists) is not shared with other parties, and is only visible to you and our administrators. Information we store publicly (such as comments or posts) is displayed on our website, viewable by anyone.

We retain publicly stored data (such as comments or posts) until it is deleted by either the user who posted it, or a moderator/administrator, unless one of the following is true:

  • The content posted is serious, life-threatening, or illegal, and needs to be reported to authorities.
  • The content posted breaks our community guidelines, terms of service, or needs to otherwise be retained for safety reasons.

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 13 (or 16, depending on your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
