Who made PCTechSniper?

Hi, I'm Pi, the founder of PCTechSniper, previously known as GPU Sniper, and I made this site so all of you can get the best deals on PC components.

What started it?

GPU Sniper originally started as a hobby project in the summer of 2025. I was trying to make a game in Unreal Engine, but kept constantly running out of VRAM, so I bought 2 RTX 4070 Super GPUs to replace my current GPU, which I planned to put in a different PC. However, after buying these GPUs, I was delivered 2 regular RTX 4070, non-Super GPUs.

Just after buying the GPUs and realizing my mistake, every GPU increased in price by 50%, so I decided to keep my new RTX 4070s. At the time, it also solved my VRAM problem; however, I realized that I was unsatisfied with my purchase, and wanted to make sure no one ever made the same mistake again. I started looking for domain names that weren't taken, and after finding gpusniper.com, I decided to create GPU Sniper, a project to categorize and sort GPUs by price, which eventually became the tool that started it all.

V's journey

V is the other founder of PCTechSniper, who found me on TikTok after I had pitched my hobby project, getting the typical 300 views that a newbie's TikTok video does. He gave me a bit of advice on how to make a better video, which ended up getting over 100K views. This was a number of views I couldn't even imagine at the time, and the pitch worked. Hundreds of people were coming to use GPU Sniper, all thanks to that one video. Shortly after the video suggestion, I took V's offer to help me start GPU Sniper as something more real, as a tool to make the PC building market more accessible for everyone.

PCTechSniper

When the RAM shortage hit around December of 2025, we realized that GPUs weren't the only hard part to find anymore. PC gamers needed a solution for every computer part, which prompted us to make RAM Sniper, then eventually CPU Sniper. The problem was that these were all separate websites, which made the code very difficult to maintain, so we eventually merged everything into PCTechSniper, the one platform that has everything.

The Hult Prize

We once competed in the Hult Prize, pitching PCTechSniper as a tool to help improve market accessibility and reduce scams for everyone. While we didn't win the grand prize of $1,000,000, we earned a smaller $10,000 prize to help our business grow.

How is PCTechSniper free?

Hosting a community like this costs us money, but we're efficient with how we do it. For starters, we don't do our computations in the cloud. Instead, we have physical servers in two separate locations, and a load balancing worker on Cloudflare, which also prevents DDoS attacks. All AI compute happens on the same computers I use to play video games. With a bit of software running on my PC, I have it set so that when I'm not playing a game, the PC becomes unlocked, and can be used for AI.
With all these optimizations, PCTechSniper only costs us a few dollars per month just for the electricity to power the servers. In the future, we also plan to power our servers with 100% renewable energy from solar panels, which will make our costs drop to $0 per month (with a few server maintenance costs every now and then). Hosting this in the cloud would have cost us between $100 and $250 per month, estimated.

How do you make money?

PCTechSniper, LLC. makes money through affiliate links on products we display to you, earning us commissions at no additional cost to you. We use this income to invest time into developing more features for the community, making PCTechSniper better for everyone.

Core Values

We believe everyone should have the access to the PC building market and the ability to build a computer, no matter how much experience you have choosing parts or assembling computers. Our goal is to build a tool that lets anyone, regardless of experience, build a computer that satisfies their budget. Showing you the best deals and providing advice on social media platforms is our way of fulfilling this mission.

Our Community

Join our community on Discord, and don't hesitate to ask questions! Send a message in chat, or DM Pi and we'll help you troubleshoot anything that's going wrong during the part choosing or building processes.

Gaming Community

We've started to expand into the gaming space, first with a Minecraft server, skelesmp.net, which is live right now. We also plan on further expanding to other games as we gain more members.
